Gestures and Moments of the Mass
The gestures speak a language that the children can understand. They help them (and us, for that matter) to meditate deeply on the great mysteries of our faith.

Origin of the Eucharist
We trace Jesus' desire to remain with all people for all time in the gift of the Eucharist from the moment of the Last Supper through to the present when we gather at Mass and on into the future.
Synthesis of the Mass
Finally, we will put all the parts of the Mass in order and spread them out as at a banquet.
Preparation At the Church - Retreat Day
Holy Rosary students*: ———-Wednesday, April 25, 8:45 a.m. – 2:00 p.m.
Our Lady of Lourdes students*: —Wednesday, May 2, 9:00 a.m. – 2:15 p.m.
*plus any of the students from other schools who can join us
At the retreat the children will focus on the gift of the Eucharist. They will have a chance to work independently with the materials, begin work on a Mass Missal focusing on one or two moments of the Mass, reflect on the covenant through art expression, and consider a new parable of the Kingdom ("The Kingdom of God is like the yeast a woman took..."). There will be opportunity for private prayer at the prayer tables. We will practice how to receive the Eucharist and our song of Thanksgiving that the students will song following Communion. We will meditate on the words of the Centurion who asked Jesus to heal his servant ("Lord, I am not worthy..."), and share bread together at the end of the day. It is a full joyful day!
